Legendary Liverpool band The Christians played a fantastic gig on the weekend as part of the "On The Waterfront" festival.Garry Christian was on fine form and rocked the Liverpool crowd. He mentioned he was late for a gig in Southport - but still managed to spend some time with the crowd and pose for a few photos.
Was so nice to photograph Katie Melua playing live last night as part of the Music On The Waterfront concert series in Liverpool. With the Three Graces and new Pier Head buildings as a backdrop - it was a stunning location to start off her summer of touring. With tens of thousands of Liverpudlians out to enjoy the sounds - it was an amazing night to photograph.
More photos from more acts to follow - so stay tuned people!
Last night the sky over the Liverpool city scape came alive with a spectacular laser light show as part of the Battle of the Atlantic 70 year celebrations. I was glad I stayed out a little big longer to capture the stunning laser light display that came alive as the sky over Liverpool City Centre darkened. The Morse Code laser light show was projected from the Royal Liver Building and was a tribute to Alan Turing who was instrumental in cracking the 'Enigma Code.' The Morse Code message is simply translated to "thank you"
Back down the Liverpool Pier Head again today to catch some of the action of the brilliant waterfront event.
Stay tuned for some more photos
Earlier last month I was commissioned to photograph the cover for Liverpool City Mag. It was a unique opportunity to get down to the Macula Spectacular event before it all kicked off. The shots ended up being taken around 1am once they had all the projection artwork lined up on the Liver Building. Another advantage was I could get the guys to freeze the animation so I could get a nice long exposure at low ISO.
I love my job. Simple as that. Getting to photograph the Liverpool Philharmonic in such a splendid setting really is an honour. To have them covering Beatles tunes in their own style is truly something to behold.
Having legendary conductor and composer Carl Davis, baton in hand, might just be the icing on the cake.
Here's some photos from last night's Reflection on the Waterfront penultimate event.
As the event winds down with the final show tonight - it will no doubt be hailed as a massive success and a testament to Liverpool City for investing so much time and money bringing these fantastic events to life.
Next week the summer event timetable continues with another mind-blowing concept - "A real life disaster movie performed live in the night sky!"
Unfortunately i'll be on the south coast for a big event down there - I look forward to seeing the photos!

Liverpool is changing - with Liverpool One, One Park West and these new buildings adjacent to the Three Graces... the old Liverpool is becoming barely recognisable.
