Such a beautiful still evening in LIverpool town. The Liverpool skyline is ever changing and is always such an engaging subject to photograph. Was loving the interesting cloud cover and the chance to see stars over a big city is always a bonus!
Then when I got back and looked at the ship - it looked vaguely familiar. I realised I had photographed her in her home country. A few years back I was out in Buenos Aires on assignment for Conde Nast Traveller magazine - and there she was in the beautiful Buenos Aires harbour at sunset. So nice to see her again!
Last night the sky over the Liverpool city scape came alive with a spectacular laser light show as part of the Battle of the Atlantic 70 year celebrations. I was glad I stayed out a little big longer to capture the stunning laser light display that came alive as the sky over Liverpool City Centre darkened. The Morse Code laser light show was projected from the Royal Liver Building and was a tribute to Alan Turing who was instrumental in cracking the 'Enigma Code.' The Morse Code message is simply translated to "thank you"
Back down the Liverpool Pier Head again today to catch some of the action of the brilliant waterfront event.
Stay tuned for some more photos
Was up nice and early to get some photos of the German Aida Blu cruise ship arriving into the Mersey on Saturday morning. There was a handful of avid "ship-spotters" lining the river waiting to catch a glimpse also. The one thing I wasn't anticipating was the ship turning a full 180 degrees and reversing into the dock. This often comes down to the individual skipper's preference and he had only radioed the change in that morning.Anyway! Here's a big ol' panoramic from across the Mersey looking back toward the famous Liverpool City Skyline... please click on the wee thumbnail to "super-size" it... [nggallery id=7]

Was recently commissioned to take a few photos in and around Liverpool. I made my way down to the Mersey one clear evening and grabbed a few shots. Conscious of the number of Liverpool Skyline shots i've both seen and taken since i've been living here, I zoomed in a little closer and tried to capture a different take on the skyline.
