Jack Savoretti (and cool looking Bass Player)... Some photos from last night's On The Waterfront Concert in Liverpool

photo of jack savoretti in liverpool photo of jack savoretti base player These guys would have to be the "unexpected/delight/discovery" for me last night. I think Jack has been in town before - but this was the first time I heard him play. It was almost textbook. The sun was getting low in the sky. Warm, long shadows were cast across the waterfront. We just needed some nice chilled rock and roll with a country twang to complement the moment. Step in Jack Savoretti. And his very cool looking Bass player. Toes were tapping, crowds were smiling... the rest was history.

Since writing this blog i've now downloaded his latest record: Before the Storm. If there's another warm balmy afternoon in the country this year - I suggest you download, listen and 'while away' said afternoon. Even if there's not - download and listen anyway. It's very cool.

Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner - some photos from another spectacular occasion

Was delighted to be invited to photograph the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner again for the third year running. The return to the spectacular Anglican Cathedral made my job a lot easier with such a stunning backdrop. I had to remind myself that there were well turned-out Liverpool businesspeople in the frame also! The introductory speech was from the Earl of Derby, followed by Chamber chairman Jack Stopforth. The key note speaker was Charlotte Hogg - head of retail division - Santander. As a sponsor of formula one racing - I soon worked out why there was a Formula One racing car in the nave of the church! They all had positive messages for the future of Liverpool and the Northwest. The evening was bought to a close nicely with 80's group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Anyway - enough banter - here's some photos from the night...
