An entire shoot in heavy rain... that was a challenge and a half! Was fantastic meeting the incredibly engaging, enthusiastic host that is Paul Rose. What a legend! If I have half his vitality when i'm his age - I will be very very happy! Such a pleasure to work with professional people. SO rewarding!
There a few things in life you have to pinch yourself to make sure it's actually happening and real. This was one of them. Was very honoured and privileged to be the official photographer at the Liverpool Town Hall when Her Majesty the Queen visited Liverpool recently. The city of Liverpool also presented her with some of my photography as a gift. Pretty surreal stuff!
He visited Alder Hey and Claire House - some of his chosen charities for his foundation. Was very impressed with his easy going and relaxed attitude. He really looked comfortable spending his precious time visiting terminally ill chiidren. Here's some photos from his visit. Nice work Wayne!
One of my favourite new clients - Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar has the most incredible in-house bar. The WOW Bar. The standard in-house cafe you find everywhere is old hat. Harvey Nichols are re-inventing the "shopping wheel" with this concept. Why settle for coffee when you could relax into a freshly shaken cocktail made by expert bartender Danny?
This recent shoot I did for them was to promote this very cool concept. Next time you're out shopping and need to take a few minutes to chill and take the edge off... head over to the WOW Bar. I very much doubt you will be disappointed...

The above title will no doubt draw controversy - but Sonny Bill Williams may just be the greatest sportsman alive in the world today. To be world class in three different sports is a very good start. I had the pleasure of photographing him recently when playing for the New Zealand Kiwis rugby league in the UK for the World Cup. He was part of a team defending their World Championship status. Such an amazing bunch of guys and felt proud to be a New Zealander and humbled to have spent time with them having lunch and the photographing them. Will Sonny Bill Williams one day be remembered as one of the greats? I think so - but in the meantime he is currently back with the most successful sporting team of all time. The New Zealand All Blacks. Kia Kaha bro. Respect.

Really have been spoilt for choice so far in Auckland, New Zealand. Six photo shoots down and another 10 to go! One very special place for photography between Takapuna and Milford is a little beach called Thornes Bay. It's nestled in between volcanic rock and Pohutukawa trees.
It's an amazing place for photography - so it was just as well I had an amazing family to photograph!

Flynn and Hugo are mad about basketball. So it was only fitting that our photoshoot was in Downtown Auckland at the new Wynyard Quarter. What was formerly industrial dock wasteland has now been transformed into a very cool urban playground.
With gorgeous morning light there were loads of nice photo opportunities to be had.
I'm always a bit of a sucker for a nicely back-lit silhouette. It just brings a whole new evocative mood to a shot. These particular ones we taken from a low angle to bring the old tramtracks into the shot too.
With the first two weeks of my New Zealand working holiday coming to a close - it's been pretty awesome fun working in my old stomping ground. We're off to Coromandel tomorrow for a week - and due to lots of requests i'm going to be doing another week of portrait shoots when I get back.
It's so nice to be out here in Aotearoa. Weather has been incredible and i've also been capturing some portraits of some pretty amazing people. My first official shoot was with Nicki and her adorable two kids (and her fantastic two retrievers)
Here's a couple of photos from the portrait shoot:

As mentioned in my previous blog post - here's few more photos from my Aunty Fi's birthday. These are my Uncles, my Aunties, my amazing Mum (second photo) and my Cousins.
Faces I have grown up with. Faces that are family.
So nice to be home!
Here's a few quick portraits of my nieces and nephews. Always love getting updated shots - and always so interesting to see how much their faces have changed.
I have lots of commissioned portrait shoots coming up in the next couple of weeks - I really hope the weather comes good!
Next blog post will be some portraits of older faces - so stay tuned!
Having two whole months off any kind of work is likely to drive me slightly mental. So to counter that i'm going to be shooting portraits in the first couple of weeks. Already have the first week booked up - but give me a holla if you'd like any photographs taken. I've also got an absolute killer wedding to photograph down Mount Maunganui way in March. That is going to be amazing. In between times there'll be plenty of "up at sunrise" coastal shots to be had. Am really looking forward to expanding the fine art photography archive and getting the PRINTS section of the website live.
I'm currently adding a general portrait section to the site as last week I had someone call and ask me "Do you only photograph famous people?" I laughed and told her that was me just trying to show off!
Anyway - back to it. Gotta get some sleep before I photograph some of the LFC team tomorrow at their Melwood training ground.
MSB Solicitors Liverpool are one of the top firms in the Northwest region. Their recent growth has meant I have been called back time and time again to photograph their new team members. This was a quick portrait of their management team on the front steps of their new premises in the heart of the financial district on Tithebarne Street.

It was a rather chilly affair grabbing photos at week two of the Culture Liverpool Christmas Animation festivities on the streets of Liverpool!
Exactly one month till Christmas - certainly didn't stop all the hardcore Liverpudlian shoppers from getting out amongst it. Here's a few snaps from the night...

After raining all day, the sun came out and I headed down to Liverpool ONE to grab some photos of the new beach volleyball set-up. And what a fantastic set-up it is! Beside the new outdoor plunge pool and next to the tropical cocktail bar is where it can be found. Perfect for the balmy summer evenings, grab a team of workmates and head on down for a quick game of beach volleyball followed by an ice cold cocktail!

Wandering out for coffee every morning before the heat of the day hit, ended up being quite a nice little tradition on the extended weekend spent in Mallorca. Here's a portrait of Natalia and her 86 year old grand pa on the last morning.

Over the next month or so i'm going to be posting a selection of shots from my last 2 trips back home to New Zealand. Obviously the scenery it's world famous for - is one of the reasons it draws me back time and time again. But the main reason is family and friends. So i'm going to start off with a couple of shots of my two Nephews. It's amazing to see the difference each time I go back. It's great to just hang out with them and spend time and snap off the odd shot.
