Giant's Causeway Northern Ireland. A photo of the view that left me somewhat perplexed/gobsmacked etc...

photo of the giant's causeway northern ireland black and whiteAfter getting up at 4am, driving a couple of hours and arriving at the north east coast of County Antrim - I walked down the dramatically rugged coastline and arrived at this. I come from New Zealand - the spiritual home of dramatic landscapes. But when I saw this I just stood there. Trying to take it all in, I literally didn't know where to start. I am a massive fan of architecture and landscapes. So to arrive at somewhere that serenely blends the two, was really something very special. The sun was just rising over the horizon - so I knew time was of the essence. But today was not going to be a day where the photographic execution was implemented. Today was going to be a recce. To truly do this justice, I would need to come back. Today, I just need to explore, appreciate and respect this incredible landscape.
