Brabners Stuart - corporate legal finance experts - are an integral part of Brabners Chaffe Street, based in Liverpool. The brief was to grab some corporate portraits "but not the usual bog-standard type." That's always a bit of a challenge as one person's perspective on creativity is always different to the next. So what I like to do is allow myself enough time to develop a bit of a rapport with the clients, rather than rushing in, saying "cheese", "thank you", then leaving. I also like to try and get away with not carrying too much extra lighting and equipment with me - as it often takes a lot more time to set-up than it does to grab the shots. People waiting around for anything tend to be unhappy people! So I was lucky enough to have available light from a large office window and a neutral coloured wall with which to shoot the black and white head shots. The team shots were set-up on a balcony (with rain pouring down) and the Liverpool Town Hall in the background. We waited for a break in the weather to bag the last couple of shots of them walking across the square effortlessly chatting away as only good lawyers could do! The black and whites and toned colour were all produced in Lightroom and tend to suit the moody feel of the day.
