A couple of days before the Tonnara wedding we left Scopello and headed down bright and early to grab some photos in the nearby mafia-stronghold town of Castellammare del Golfo. The locals had told us earlier that the fishing boats came into the docks around 8am. We were expecting the hustle and bustle you might find from fishermen and locals coming together, haggling over prices for the day's catch. But it was a far more subdued affair... which was actually more Sicilian in retrospect. We weaved our way through the labyrinth of back streets down to the port and waited for the action to kick off. Once down at the port, all you had to do was turn around to see the most dramatic of landscapes, the town of Castellammare built on the side of a steep Sicilian mountain. Another big tick in the box of undiscovered non-touristic Sicilian hideaways!
Anyway - without further ado, here's a few snaps!
I'll be posting more photos from Sicily, the wedding etc shortly... to have a quick look at more Liverpool-based photography, head back to my website Liverpool Photographer Ant Clausen
