Those weren’t sandflies, they were the notorious carnivorous midgies, without which west-coast lochsides would be a lot more popular with the tourists. the secret is: make sure it’s a windy day.
BY the way, we’ve met, i’m the pyromaniac scottish Chemist at the University of Manchester you did some photos for a couple of months back.
